Academic activities
International Medical College & Hospital now in its 12th year continues to pursue excellence by implementing BM&DC approved new MBBS curricula utilizing effective instructional methods and media, providing motivational environment, continuously monitoring and rigorously evaluating all teaching-learning activities. To keep students abreast with update knowledge there is arrangement of seminars/workshops on different Medical topics from time to time.

We arrange field visit for students in different medical institutes to acquire practical knowledge about community problems. Residential Field Site Trainings (RFST) are also included in the programme. Students of 3rd and 4th years are sent to Dhaka Medical College for 10 consecutive days for autopsy training.

Students of first batch (IMC-1) started their clinical course and training at IMCH from the year 2002 and all the following batches are completing their 40 weeks of ward duties (16 weeks in Medicine, 16 weeks in General Surgery and 4 weeks each in Pediatrics and Orthopedics & Traumatology) as per BMDC rules.

Students are placed in ward duties as per roaster suggested in the BM&DC Curriculum. Over 200 patients are attending out patients departments (OPD) daily on payment of a nominal amount and on weekly free treatment days the figure registered is more than 250, besides patients with diabetes, endocrine disorders and other rare diseases.

Outpatient services are in-built with the in-patient services of other departments like medicine, gastroenterology, orthopedics, urology, plastic surgery, ophthalmology, ENT, obstetrics & gynaecology, physiotherapy and dentistry, The in-patient departments have a total of 500 beds of which about 20 (number is flexible) are free

Library
Library is located in the College Building and has a collection of sufficient number of text and reference books, monographs and journals in various subjects and provides up date information to students and teachers. It has user-friendly open stack easy access system. The Library has reading room, which can accommodate about 60 students at a time and also with a teachers' reading room. There is a separate reading room for teachers adjacent to the library.

Library remains open from 8 am to 9 pm. The librarian is well-experienced with degree in library science who is assisted by assistant librarians. The library subscribes 2 indexed Journals. We are in the process of developing a modem library with sufficient computers for teachers and students. They will have online access to Internet.

Internship Training
The student successfully passing final MBBS examination will have to undergo one year internship training in the college hospital (IMCH). During internship training subsistence allowance are given to the interns.
